DEAR COLLEAGUES,

On behalf of the Scientific Committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the forthcoming Introductory Course in Genetic Counseling in Oncology 2022, which will be held at the Hotel Aquatis, in Lausanne, on Friday, September 2, and Saturday, September 3, 2022.

This will be the second Edition in French-speaking Switzerland. The first edition was very well received by both participants and speakers.

This course is held under the auspices of the CPTC network of SAKK. It is intended for medical doctors of various subspecialties, nursing professionals and other health care professionals involved in genetic counseling in oncology.

High quality speakers will teach the basics and principles of genetic counseling, for hereditary breast and ovarian cancer as well as other cancer syndromes. You will hear from experts on how to interpret genetic variants and how to manage patients with a genetically determined increased risk of cancer.

Also, during those 2 days, we are honoured to welcome Prof. Marc Tischkowitz, Professor of Medical Genetics and Honorary Consultant in the Department of Medical Genetics at Cambridge, who will share with us his experience and insights on cancer risk syndrome and how to use the CanRisk program for calculating a lifetime breast/ovarian cancer risk.

The course is open to participants from all parts of the country, and is held in English. As the number of applicants is limited in order to provide the best possible teaching, we would ask you to register soon if you are interested.
